@percoquette_ Everything in every resident evil game is sympathetic towards the monsters you have to kill, to the lives destroyed by Umbrella, and RE5 was no different.
The point of the game is that these people have been used and bastardized by Umbrella's(Spencer's) attempts at becoming god.
@percoquette_ Nobody wants to hear white people telling everyone how they should feel about media taking place in Africa.
If you had any media literacy at all you would be aware that RE5 is a criticism of when western companies would do inhumane drug trials on African people in the past IRL.
@TheQuQu I mean, I don't really agree. WinUI3 actually works quite well and I don't see why that prevents there from being a WYSIWYG editor for it or any other UI framework.
@zoro__HG@JShav1988@V_red37 So if people do this, and even cats and dogs do this, why the fuck would you not think that people with Downs Syndrome also do this?
@zoro__HG@JShav1988@V_red37 When dogs and cats are mildly suffering, like when they're in a pain that doesn't stop them moving, they don't try to tell you. So your pets will seem like the happiest little guys and literally just sit there quietly suffering and not externalizing it. People ALSO do this.
@CrazyGrandpaINC@zoro__HG@JShav1988@V_red37 It's not really fair to say it like that. It's not as though your family members with Down's Syndrome are in control of the situation. This is just the 'gift' they've been given and have to suffer through.
@zoro__HG@JShav1988@V_red37 Like not just died, their brain just stopped doing the things to keep them alive and within 2 hours, just stopped. You apparently want these people to have to live through this though.
@zoro__HG@JShav1988@V_red37 It's a terrible disorder because chances are you'll get dementia in your 40's and have to go through your brain slowly becoming swiss cheese until it fails to keep you alive, something I have watched and cared for someone going through until they stopped breathing one day.
@zoro__HG@JShav1988@V_red37 That was the first thing that popped into my head because you described a more disgusting and insidious version of munchausen by proxy and attempted to frame it sympathetically as though it justified not getting rid of a terrible disorder.
@zoro__HG@V_red37 The link to polio is that the only way to not have to suffer through it is for it to be cured once you have it as early as possible. That's the point of this proof of concept. They showed that they could remove the extra chromosome in these lab cells.
