We’re kicking off the Competitiveness Conversation in Nebraska, focused on the bioeconomy—a sector projected to reach $30 trillion globally by 2050.
Powered by a land-grant system delivering research, teaching and Extension across all 93 counties, Nebraska is built to lead.
Doctoral student Catherine Chan received the School of Natural Resources award at the Graduate Student Fellowship Luncheon yesterday. Read about her research on remote sensing at https://t.co/taf3YK0HnI

Presented at my first conference as a grad student FINALLY 🥳 So many great conversations. Fired up to get back in the field next summer. And I met THE killdeer queen @bellbirdsong_NZ 🥳🤯

One way to help pollinators in Nebraska is to plant some native plants in your garden🌷🌼🌹

SCREAMING! Can't believe today happened. Shout out to @Burkscognition for sharing this event with me and making sure we didn't miss it, and @UNLsbs for helping bring
@ravenscimaven to campus to come chat with us!❤️ #ScienceNeedsBlackWomen
In a study of @NebrWaterCenter, Craig Allen and other EPSCoR scientists suggest boundary organizations may bridge science and policy better by disseminating information in ways that include the views of people besides scientists and policymakers.
Remotely interesting: #NE_NRT alumni Catherine Chan has been using remote sensing to study the resilience of Nebraska Sandhills vegetation.

We had a hypothesis in 2017 that a #NSFNRT would work well at @UNLincoln . Now six years later, we will--ahem--analyze data and draw conclusions at a closing party on December 11 to culminate this successful experiment.

As you prepare to ace your finals, remember to take a break from studying and do something for yourself. You deserve it! A few ideas worth stepping away from your studies for a bit:
‣ Visit local shops
‣ Take in Zoo Lights
‣ Grab a bite
‣ Do something fun with friends
Exciting work by @unlsbs professor Dai Shizuka in ornithology. Thanks for including our #NE_NRT doctoral student Brandy Williams in the good work you do.

INCLUSIVE EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH AND CREATIVITY | BIO-LEAPS has allowed Dr. Dai Shizuka and his team study various aspects of how having connections with people like themselves fosters a sense of belonging and how they can encourage them to pursue the love of research.
#NE_NRT student Jonathan Cronk successfully defended his master's thesis, which covered the complex relationship between aquifer overdraft and nitrate transport. Congratulations!
