Hey everyone! Just a quick update on Gaslight District.

The team has been working incredibly hard behind the scenes, and this has quickly become one of the most ambitious 3D projects we’ve ever taken on at GLITCH.

There’s still some ways ahead of us before we’re ready to bring you back into this world, but we’re incredibly excited about how everything is coming together and can’t wait to show you what we’ve been cooking.

Help Them Survive One

Jannat Radwan, a 24-year-old married mother from Gaza, now lives with her family in a rented tent pitched in the middle of a street. She shares the space with her 3-year-old son Rayan, her sister’s two children, and their father. The family has been displaced 16 times since the start of the genocide. During one incident, they were surrounded by IOF forces, and months ago shrapnel became lodged in Jannat’s leg while she was inside the tent. Rain regularly floods the tent, and strong winds recently threatened to collapse it as a low-pressure system brought cold weather. Jannat suffers ongoing health issues that doctors link to psychological stress, as do other family members. Before the genocide she was studying nursing and working as a nurse, but she had to stop due to the siege and unpaid tuition fees. Her young son Rayan has no warm clothes or blankets and has rarely eaten fruit or many basic foods. The family urgently needs a stronger tent, blankets for everyone, food, clean water, medicine, and other daily necessities. Jannat’s father, who previously lived with them, is now in Egypt receiving treatment for severe heart disease and diabetes; part of any support helps cover his medical care and living expenses there. The family faces daily living costs of between $150 and $300 due to inflation, and they hope to evacuate through the Rafah crossing when possible, where passage costs around $5,000 per adult. Contributions would help provide immediate shelter, warmth, food, medicine, and support for the father’s treatment.
