If you ever had doubt, this should clear it. UEFA and FIFA are at loggerheads.

Aleksandr Ceferin and Gianni Infantino do not see eye to eye. In fact, you can probably call them sworn enemies.

Gianni Infantino is of the opinion that Russia's ban should be lifted as it has currently served no major purpose or change. Ceferin insisted that Russian clubs will remain banned in Europe and that Russia will not play a European qualifier.

Ceferin has also questioned Infantino's greed. He opposed the FIFA club world Cup because he feels it is a threat to the ucl. Infantino went ahead with the proposal. This issue further heightened the issues between both. Ceferin did not show up for a single match in the FIFA club world cup.

Ceferin further accused Infantino for being too political. He claimed that football was secondary to Infantino and politics primary. Infantino responded by cheekily asking those making accusations to look within.

Hence, when this issue with Omar Artan happened, I knew this was an opportunity for UEFA and Ceferin to get back at Infantino and FIFA.

This appointment serves no purpose other than to embarrass Infantino. To bring to fore Ceferin's initial accusations that Infantino was too political. To turn public opinion and induce rage. It was opportunity for Ceferin and UEFA. Preparedness met opportunity.

Away from the politics this is a wonderful opportunity for Omar Artan. A well deserved opportunity. He may well be a pawn in the greater chess game but he might be one that might just crown a King.
