Super relevant new paper by my co-author Daniele Rinaldo et al! They find that after the first year of war, 82% of each square kilometre of the Gaza Strip had been damaged at least once and more than 3/4s of Gaza’s economy has been destroyed since the start of the conflict
Changes in the luminosity of night lights in the Gaza Strip allow researchers to estimate the economic impact of the Israel-Hamas war. The lights have dimmed by 68.5% since the conflict began, corresponding to 2.6 billion USD lost. In PNAS Nexus: https://t.co/Vebve8kotI
New working paper with @AmolRaswan and Chris Udry: "The Sisyphean Pursuit of Evidence for Poverty Traps."

Hi #EconTwitter!
Always nice to see an #econometrics paper forthcoming in Econometrica, especially if it's about the bootstrap!
This cool work by Ayden Higgins (@UniofOxford) & Koen Jochmans (@TSEinfo), building on earlier research by @silviag45129862 & Kaffo (2016, @JEconometrics), tackles the important issue of asymptotic bias in panel data models using the bootstrap.
Check it out!
