@thenanyu Depends on where you’re applying taste though, doesn’t it? Taste is typically applied to subjective things so what does “better” even mean in the context you’re referring to (because it doesn’t sound like taste.) Sounds like you’re saying AI makes better reasoning decisions.
The study mentions partial reversing of these numbers post-disease. So not quite as scary as you’re making it seem.
Telomeres and other epigenetic tests like the Horvath clock (also measured in this study) are variable and can be reversed/improved with things like diet and exercise.
Not saying Covid doesn’t affect lifespan (it very well may) but we won’t know for many more years when people actually die. Jury is still out on whether these age markers can actually tell us the whole story.
I’d be also curious to see this study repeated with other diseases like pneumonia, flu, etc to see if there are similar effects on these “age markers.”
