This one hurts. RIP Rick Adelman.
Rick Adelman wasn’t just our coach, he helped build the greatest era of Sacramento Kings basketball many of us will ever witness. Thank you for the memories, the passion, and for making us believe. Rest easy, Coach.
Forever a Sacramento legend.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver issued the following statement today regarding the passing of former NBA player, head coach and Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Rick Adelman:
"Rick Adelman was one of the most respected and accomplished coaches in the history of the NBA. Following his NBA playing career, Rick turned to coaching where his leadership, innovation and genuine love for basketball left a lasting impression on generations of players and fellow coaches over his nearly 30-year run. He was a brilliant strategist and teacher of the game, and an even better person. I send my deepest condolences to Rick's family and many friends throughout the league."
Have so much respect for Rick Adelman and his Hall of Fame coaching career. His eight years in Sacramento were extraordinarily impactful. Rest easy Coach.
Rest in peace to a legendary coach who propelled the Sacramento Kings to the Western Conference Finals and numerous other playoff appearances.
He was the mastermind behind the “Greatest Show On Court.”
Thanks for everything you gave Sacramento and basketball as a whole, Rick!
I am not trying to pour salt in the wound, but the Kings provided the Knicks with their Finals coach, the Spurs with their second star, after providing the Pacers with their Finals star last year after providing the Nuggets with their Finals coach in 23.
So many amazing memories highlighting 41 years of the Kings in Sacramento but perhaps none greater than decision 13 years ago today by NBA relocation committee to unanimously reccomend keeping franchise in SacTown.
The Brooklyn Nets have signed head coach Jordi Fernandez and the entire coaching staff to multiyear contract extensions, sources tell ESPN. This solidifies a long-term commitment for Fernandez after two seasons at the helm.
