What would happen is that the management I.e. the coach will get the sack and a top class manager would be brought in to win. Or you gamble and fall further behind the other big clubs.

In Shankly's time, players didn't have big money and loyalty was common place for big clubs. Success needs to be regular as in year in year out.

@tonymc39 @JamesPearceLFC Brendan Rodgers, Potter, Thomas Frank, to name a few exciting up and coming managers and they all failed and the clubs struggled since. If we fail again that is two years wasted which usually takes another 1 or two years to get it right. That is what I mean.
