Hey @ParkNewHaven! One of the @ChargePointnet chargers at the Crown Street garage has been broken for like 4 months! It looks like it just needs a new plug - when do you think you might get around to looking at it?

@chevrolet Not happy about my brand new 2023 #Bolt right now. I had it for a total of 15 days before I got a check engine light, now I'm waiting for a transmission pump that won't be ready until October. It's been in the shop more than in my driveway!
Folks it has been nearly 3 years now and I still get a little shiver of delight when people ask what I do and I can just say "I'm a psychologist" without any caveats.
It bears repeating that IQ testing is nearly the worst way to measure general intelligence, second only to every other way of measuring general intelligence.
I remember learning all of this in undergraduate psychology and feeling so surprised that IQ was essentially a scam for any purpose other than measuring the ability to take tests
@PsychNiles I don't know about "one of the least". I mean off the top of my head I can think of lashing out, substance use, isolating, ruminating, self-criticism... and those are only the ones that I didn't think I'd need to put a trigger warning for!
Without fail, when a client tells me they were moved by something I said in a past session, I know it’s not the profound insight based on psychological theory I was high-fiving myself for delivering at the right time but something so minor (to me) I forgot saying it
pov: you are in hell. someone is unpacking the 927 piece 4x space sim strategy board game. they open up the rulebook. "there are 5 different victory conditions in this game," they begin. "first of all let me explain all of the different token currencies,"
This year I'm doing ballroom dance classes and my little girls are doing martial arts. This is the future the left wants for you America! They're kicking my ass and I can't chacha away fast enough!
6. Night Patrol: Before going to bed, perform the Ready and Steady exercise and hold the contraction for a longer time of 30 seconds. This will help strengthen your pelvic floor muscles and reduce nighttime urinary frequency.
#GPT3 (used at https://t.co/cKy8AVmSlB) might be an interesting aide for generating handouts or other psych tools. Look at the results for the prompt "Create a pelvic floor muscle exercise plan for an older male veteran for improving nighttime urinary frequency."

5. Ready and Steady: Start by lying on your back, tightening your pelvic floor muscles as if you are trying to stop the flow of urine, and pressing your lower back into the floor. Hold this contraction for 10 seconds. Release and repeat 8-10 times.
4. Airmans’ Twist: Start by lying on your back and tightening your pelvic floor muscles as if you are trying to stop the flow of urine. Lift your legs into the air and cross them at the ankles. Twist your legs in a circular motion from side to side.
3. On Guard: Start by lying on your back and tightening your pelvic floor muscles as if you are trying to stop the flow of urine. Imagine that you are protecting your pelvic floor muscles by “guarding” them with your body. Hold this contraction for 10 seconds.
2. Straighten Up: Start by standing at attention and tightening your pelvic floor muscles as if you are trying to stop the flow of urine. Lift your chest and pull your abdomen in. Hold this contraction for 10 seconds. Release and repeat 8-10 times.
1. Double Time: This exercise is best done twice daily. Start by standing at attention and tightening your pelvic floor muscles as if you are trying to stop the flow of urine. Hold this contraction for 20 seconds. Release and repeat 8-10 times.
