@Jacsplace3 @BritishGas From what I can ascertain, the British Gas database was contaminated back in 2020 when they switched from a legacy system to a newer one. They've lost the records of thousands of meters & customers.

Customer service staff are handicapped because of the incompetency.

@paulpottsmusic @BritishGas @BritishGasHelp @ofgem Stuck in a similar predicament, British Gas are adamant that I own five fictitious gas meters. I want to switch to Octopus but can't.

Had to get the ombudsman and my local MP involved.

British Gas are committing mass fraud and should be prosecuted.
