This Monday, 9th January, Mike Holmes who is the head of Haxby Group Medical Practice is holding a public meeting to discuss issues at The Old Forge surgery. It is at 6pm at the Poppleton Community Centre and all members of the public are welcome.

Due to our September meeting date falling on the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral our meeting was postponed and will take place this Monday, 3rd October. As usual it will start with Planning Committee at 7pm in the Community Centre.

This month our meeting will be on 25th April, rather than our usual third Monday in the month. The change is due to Easter and because Parish Councils cannot meet on Bank Holidays.

Today was another meeting of our Queen’s Platinum Jubilee committee, a joint group of Upper and Nether Parish Council. We are working with others to bring together an event for the evening of 2nd June featuring music, food and drink and a beacon lighting.
