An 86 year old Pennsylvania farmer turned down a 15 million dollar offer from AI data center developers in order to preserve his family land.

For more than 60 years Mervin Raudabaugh has worked his 261 acre farm in Cumberland County Pennsylvania. The property is where he raised his family and maintained a thriving wildlife habitat. When developers approached him with an offer of more than 60 000 dollars per acre totaling over 15 million dollars he chose to reject it.

I was not interested in destroying my farms Raudabaugh said. Instead he sold his development rights to a land preservation program for just under 1.9 million dollars. This decision permanently protects the farmland woodlands and wetlands from future development.

His choice reflects a growing conflict across rural America as tech companies seek land for large scale AI data centers. These projects demand vast amounts of space electricity and water often leading to local resistance over the loss of agricultural land and environmental impacts.

While the financial incentives are substantial for many farming families Raudabaugh hopes his example encourages others to safeguard Americas farmland. For him protecting the land where future generations can live and enjoy its natural beauty was far more valuable than any monetary offer.

Japanese scientists have discovered a way to generate electricity by mixing saltwater and freshwater.

In August 2025, a facility harnessing the energy of mixing saltwater and freshwater, known as "blue energy," began operations in Fukuoka, Japan.

While Japan is a leader in advancing this technology, the underlying scientific principle is a long-standing concept that utilizes osmosis to generate power.

Specifically, the process is a type of pressure-retarded osmosis (PRO). It involves the following steps: a special semi-permeable membrane is used to separate two water streams with different salt concentrations. One side uses concentrated seawater, which is made even saltier by using waste brine from a nearby desalination plant. The other side uses treated wastewater with a low salt concentration.

Unlike solar or wind energy, this method works continuously, day and night, independent of weather conditions. Researchers estimate that if implemented globally at river mouths, it could provide up to 15% of the world’s energy needs — a staggering potential for clean, sustainable power.

“Davey Hearn is my constituent, a native-born resident of Montgomery County, a three-time Olympian canoeist, and a famed and celebrated teacher and coach of canoeing and kayaking in our community,” Raskin stated. “He is beloved in my district as a model citizen whether on water or on dry land. The 67-year-old Hearn was arrested last month and indicted by a grand jury (an incredibly easy hurdle to clear). Prosecutors absurdly accused him of "forcefully and violently” tearing up the pool's liner and damaging the sealant. The accusation came as Trump was desperately trying to insist that the hilariously botched renovations were the result of leftist vandals and not the natural consequence of hiring incompetent, crooked contractors to perform the work.

This prosecution is a waste of our time, tax dollars, and a blatant abuse of federal power to help a failed President save face.

"Davey Hearn would never desecrate a federal building or landmark by writing his name on it or affixing his name illegally to it or engaging in any other kind of political graffiti, vandalism or delinquency,” Raskin continued, clearly referring to Trump’s actions. “He would never intentionally damage government property. Whether we are talking about the White House, the Reflecting Pool or the Kennedy Center, Davey would never try to alter, bulldoze or redesign federal property or buildings without explicit Congressional authorization and direction.”

“Davey is an honorable and law-abiding citizen who has won real giant prizes, including eight world championships,” Raskin added. “He did so without any corrupt practices and only through his magnificent hard work and surpassing dedication to the team. He would never try to undercut or sabotage anyone, much less our entire community.”

If he’s found guilty in this ludicrous legal saga, Hearn could face up to 10 years in prison, an absolutely vile miscarriage of justice as Trump, a pedophiliac, war criminal felon continues to walk free.

Trump's Beef Catastrophe: Incompetence, Blithering Idiocy, and Blatant Lies Have Obliterated America's Beef Industry

In yet another humiliating display of incompetence, the authoritarian Trump regime has turned America's once-mighty beef industry into a national punchline. After months of touting "record" export numbers as proof that his chaotic trade policies were somehow working, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has been forced to admit it inflated beef export sales by a staggering 90 percent.

According to a bombshell Reuters report, the USDA bragged in early July that U.S. exporters had sold more than 126,000 metric tons of beef to foreign buyers for a sales period ending in late June. The actual number? Just 12,000 metric tons. That's not a rounding error. That's a catastrophic fabrication that would embarrass a high-school bookkeeper.

The fake numbers were so absurd they should have raised red flags immediately. The USDA claimed record sales of more than 38,000 metric tons to Chile and over 32,000 metric tons to Italy — countries that aren’t even major markets for American beef. Reality? A pathetic 367 tons to Chile and 350 tons to Italy. Fourteen other countries saw their numbers slashed as well.

This isn't just bureaucratic sloppiness. This is the Trump regime's signature brand of hype, lies, spin, and propaganda colliding with economic reality — and the American cattle industry is paying the price.

U.S. beef prices have hit record highs this year thanks to tight cattle supplies and strong domestic demand. Exports have been declining since 2022. Higher prices have priced American beef out of the global market, as commodity analyst Austin Schroeder bluntly told Reuters: "We're priced out of the world market to a certain extent. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for that big of an export number."

Meanwhile, domestic supplies are so low the U.S. has had to ramp up beef imports. Earlier this year, a screwworm outbreak forced Texas to declare a state of disaster, further hammering producers already squeezed by Trump-era chaos.

Instead of acknowledging the mess his administration created — from trade wars that disrupted markets to regulatory neglect that left ranchers vulnerable — Trump and his sycophants simply let the USDA pump out fantasy numbers and call it a win.

This is the same pattern we've seen across the board: brag about successes that don't exist, then quietly revise the data when caught. Only this time it's not some abstract economic indicator. It's the backbone of rural America — cattle ranchers, feedlot operators, processors, and exporters — watching their industry get trashed by incompetence and covered up with lies.

The revised numbers aren't just embarrassing, they're devastating. They confirm what ranchers have been screaming for months: America's beef sector is in serious trouble, and the people running the show are too busy tweeting victory to notice or care.

The only question left is how many more "record" numbers will have to be walked back due to Trump being a serial lying sociopath who is too psychologically fragile to handle the truth.

BREAKING: HELL YEAH! Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen defies Trump by boldly declaring that her country will defend “every inch” of NATO as Trump threatens Greenland.

This is true courage in the face of fascism…

“We will defend the kingdom of Denmark,” Frederiksen said at the NATO summit in Turkey.

The remarks came after Trump once again insisted that the United States must annex Greenland for “national security” purposes.

“Greenland is a big problem for us. We need it for protection of the world, not just the United States, and it’s very important,” he said. “It doesn’t help Denmark.”

In reality, Trump’s deranged dreams of territorial conquest have nothing to do with defense. Greenland is part of NATO, so the U.S. already has de facto military control of the island. Simply slapping American “ownership” over it accomplishes nothing beyond flattering Trump’s ego.

And that’s what this is really about.

The same megalomania that possessed him to try in vain to chisel his name into the Kennedy Center and erect a gaudy ballroom is now driving him to gobble up Greenland. Trump wants to be remembered as a President who seized more territory since he has no actual achievements to his name.

Thankfully, the rest of the world is done being pushed around by this dementia-riddled bully.

“We are ready to defend every inch of NATO, including our own territory,” said Frederiksen.

“We are a sovereign state and we need everyone to respect our territorial integrity and our sovereignty,” she added. “Article 5 is our insurance.”

Much to MAGA’s chagrin, the EU is standing with the Danish.

“Decisions about the future of Greenland are for Greenlanders and Danes to decide,” said Olof Gill, a spokesman for the European Commission. “Territorial integrity, national sovereignty and inviolability of borders are fundamental principles of international law.”

The safest bet is that Trump will soon move on to some other distraction after this summit concludes and Greenland will remain free. But the damage he’s done through rhetoric alone is incalculable. Our core military alliances have been deeply shaken and our once close European friends realize that they can no longer trust the United States.

When he finally slithers out of the Oval Office, Trump will leave behind a weaker, less stable, more isolated America than the one he inherited.
