Microsoft could reportedly shut down four Xbox studios if it can’t find buyers for them, according to a new GamesBeat report citing sources familiar with the company’s plans.

The studios named are:

>Double Fine Productions
>Undead Labs (State of Decay)
>Compulsion Games (South of Midnight)
>Ninja Theory (Hellblade)

GamesBeat says Microsoft is exploring the possibility of selling these studios to preserve jobs.
If no buyers are found, the report claims the studios could be closed, putting around 435 jobs at risk:

>Double Fine: about 100 jobs
>Undead Labs: about 110 jobs
>Compulsion Games: about 90 jobs
>Ninja Theory: about 135 jobs

The report also says Microsoft is expected to begin a new round of Xbox layoffs in early July following the end of its fiscal year.

Breaking: Windows 10 support has been extended until October 2027

In a quiet update to its official Windows 10 Extended Security Updates page, Microsoft pushed the consumer ESU coverage period to October 12, 2027.

That is one full year beyond the earlier October 2026 cutoff home users were planning around.

This is a big deal for the hundreds of millions of PCs still on Windows 10.

If you’re already enrolled, Microsoft says your coverage continues automatically. No action needed. If you haven’t enrolled yet, you still can.

The options remain the same: free if you sync PC settings with a Microsoft account, 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points, or a one-time $30 payment. One licence covers up to 10 devices.

This does not mean Windows 10 is getting new features. ESU is still security-only.

But it does mean Microsoft is no longer forcing the migration clock as aggressively.

Windows 11 is finally improving in 2026, but Windows 10 users just got more time to move on their own terms.

Quantic Dream is in big trouble. Employees have gone on strike over plans to lay off 115 workers after the failure of Spellcasters Chronicles.

According to the developers, "Star Wars Eclipse is dying" and "cannot be completed under the current circumstances."

According to them Star Wars Eclipse is already facing delays, staff shortages, and internal issues. Developers believe the game can’t be finished if the layoffs go ahead.

“We believe that, as things stand, the game simply cannot be completed if the layoff plan is implemented as currently proposed.”

The protest took place on the same day Lucasfilm representatives were reportedly visiting the studio to check on the game’s progress.
