Commuters at Glasgow Central Station were met with an unexpected performance on Sunday as 30‑piece samba band Samba Ya Bamba staged a surprise flash mob to celebrate Scotland’s historic links to the birth of Brazilian football.
Great news for passengers!
A £20m investment is underway to renew critical sections of the overhead wire system on the North Clyde routes, which feed services to and from our low-level station.
😎 @NetworkRailSCOT@ScotRail
⚡ First electrified in 1960, the North Clyde routes around Glasgow are some of our busiest.
We’ve begun a £20m, multi-year project to upgrade the overhead wires which power the trains that get you where you need to be.

@AvantiWestCoast just like to say a big thanks to all the lovely staff who helped my husband last night at Glasgow Central after he missed his train back to Preston because of the strike to a bridge. He went back early this morning and even the staff were expecting him then 🙌👍
