Maria Shahbaz, a 13-year-old Pakistani Christian girl, is still fighting in court to reunite with her family after a judge returned her to the custody of Shehryar Ahmad, the 30-year-old Muslim man accused of abducting her in July 2025.

According to legal advocates, Maria was kidnapped from her Christian home, forcibly converted to Islam, and married against her will. An earlier investigation found that she was a minor and that her marriage documents had been forged.

Despite this, Pakistan's Federal Constitutional Court ruled in February that she should remain in Ahmad's custody without first confirming her age, a decision her lawyers say contradicts Pakistani law, which does not allow minors to consent to marriage or religious conversion.

Maria's legal team is now seeking to overturn that ruling. Her lawyer said the court has an opportunity to correct a "serious injustice," warning that allowing the decision to stand would further undermine the confidence of Pakistan's religious minorities in the justice system.

The case comes as Pakistan faces growing international scrutiny over the reported forced abduction, conversion, and marriage of more than 1,000 underage girls from religious minorities each year.

Last week, the European Parliament passed a resolution calling for Maria to be granted access to her family, legal representation, and psychological support, describing her case as emblematic of broader human rights abuses against religious minorities.

A group of North African men brutally attacked an Albanian man in Fermo, Italy, leaving him fighting for his life while they were shouting “Allahu Akbar.”

The victim intervened after this migrant gang harassed an elderly Italian man inside a restaurant and tried to rob him.

The victim suffered devastating injuries and is now in a coma.

🇫🇷 North African migrant gang beats 17-year-old Louis to death in premeditated ambush in Narbonne, France

Louis has died after three days in an induced coma. He was found unconscious with critical head injuries on a construction site following an ambush by a group of five North African migrants.

The attackers filmed the cowardly assault, showing repeated kicks to the head and blows while mocking the dying teenager. They left him lying motionless on the ground.

His body was found with multiple facial injuries, bruises, and bleeding from his nose and mouth.

Five suspects, including three minors, have been arrested. They face charges in connection with the killing, which authorities are investigating as a possible targeted ambush or act of vengeance.

Louis lived in a foster home where he had been placed by Child Protective Services.

This video shattered me. It captures the raw, bleeding heart of the Iranian diaspora, a people exhausted by grief and carrying a bottomless well of sorrow for our loved ones murdered by the Islamic regime occupying Iran.

​Look at the faces in this video. Every single person is quietly crying. There is a stillness in their grief that is far more haunting than any amount of shouting. It is the sound of 47 years of stolen lives, of brothers hanged from cranes, and of teenage girls gunned down for the crime of letting the wind touch their hair.
