@dl_blackburn I think Obama had a task force on this very subject. I remember one recommendation was elimination of duplicate depts. Say for four major public universities in a state, two would be Ag,Eng,Sci and two would be Bus,health,etc. I never heard if this went anywhere.

@JPGuerette If you enter any college, you should be required to meet with a counselor. Items to be discussed are: degree, location after degree, job, pay for that job if any available, monthly service on debt. This was a requirement from Emory U for my daughter.

@RumorsandRants My daughter started college in 2019. Before she started, we had to have a call with a counselor from the university. The counselor asked about degree pursuit, where she wanted to live after and where was the money coming from. If loan involved she was told how much her payments.

@msebastian7532 @RealFrankFromFL I don’t know what you’re implying; however, Trump, DeSantis, Haley and Ramaswamy competed in the 2024 primary. DeSantis and Ramaswamy dropped out early. Haley dropped out after Super Tuesday. That’s how it’s supposed to work. Not unelected officials anointing.

@JackDunkins01 My wife was a para-professional. Big discussion on teacher’s salary. My position was if more than 10% turnover $ too low. If less than 10% turnover $ ok. I have two brothers who taught and they could have retired w/75% base after 30 yrs. Two months off in summer. Job security.

@urwrongtho @ieatcrabmeat I applied for a $3,000 student loan in 1985, and banker made me feel like I was robbing the bank. He made me think about the job prospects, job locations, expected salary. When my daughter got accepted to Emory U in 2019, they had a counselor do the same thing.

According to https://t.co/JtDYPiSHzk, Obamacare free or close to it under Medicaid in 40 states. If you live in the 10 states w/out Medicaid expansion it’s still free up to $15,650.

@DarrigoMelanie Student Loan Reform Act of 1993 is why college is so expensive. It took the banker out of the equation. Banker would discuss cost/benefits. Since 1993, cost of 4yr public u has inc 400% while CPI has only inc by 100%.

@LauraBabcock @MeidasTouch Carney knows that hundreds of thousands of Canadians are about to be unemployed. Why would he let “slip” plans for an invasion to US media and not Canadian? Because he wants to sway US voters. A side benefit is a boost with Liberal sheep in Canada.
