Wannabe optimist, hopeful cynic. Wanted: hostile E.T. to show up, threaten all life so Earthlings realise they’re more alike than different & stop being stoopid.
Apart from the fun stuff at work, I don’t celebrate Christmas.
But as a Muslim, I believe that: ‘A person is either your brother in faith or your equal in humanity.’
So Christmas matters to me because it’s celebrated by you ❤️.
Merry Christmas and peace be unto you.
It might feel extra hard to reach out for help today because it’s Christmas. But please know you don’t have to face anything alone. Please don’t struggle in silence, if life feels tough, we’ll face it with you. We’re here all day and night 💚
Merry Christmas to all of the emergency services, care workers, social workers, the armed forces and everybody else working and spending Christmas Day away from their families and friends.

The antisemitism case against comedian Reginald Hunter has been thrown out in remarkably contemptuous terms.
Striking how often when an impartial and conscientious judge looks closely at these cases they are appalled by the sheer dishonesty (see also the rulings in favour of Michael Rosen and James Wilson in 2024 and the University and College Union in 2013)
"The Campaign Against Antisemitism have demonstrated by the misleading and partial way in which it summarised its application and its wilful, repeated, failure to meet its disclosure obligations, that its true and sole motive in seeking to prosecute Reginald Hunter is to have him cancelled .... I have no doubt that the prosecution is abusive ... My view of the conduct of the CAA is consistent with them as an organisation which is not 'playing it straight' but is seeking to use the criminal justice system, in this case for improper reasons."
The judge ordered that his judgement be disclosed and attached to any future case brought by the CAA.
Perhaps @BBCNews could take note and stop treating the CAA's Chief Executive, Gideon Falter, as a spokesman for the Jewish community.

MP's basic salary in 2021 = £81,932.00
MP's basic salary in 2025 = £93,904.00
That's a 14.6% pay rise in five years.
Tell us again how doctors are asking for too much?
Ipswich Town have left a hat and a wreath of flowers on the seat of season ticket holder Andrew Hammond, who sadly passed away this week after taking his own life.
If you are struggling, do not be ashamed to reach out, Friends, family, a work colleague or even a neighbour. It’s okay to not be okay and people are always willing to help.
Fair play to Ipswich, rest in peace Andrew 💙
🇦🇺JEWISH MAN: “Ahmed Al-Ahmed, he saved my life and my four-year-old's life. If Ahmed Al-Ahmed didn't stop that guy, he was coming to do absolute horror. I can only say thank you to that Muslim brother that came and took it upon himself and risked his own life to save us”
‘This is what Reform in power looks like. Cuts to support. New charges for those least able to pay. Big talk about efficiency followed by ordinary people picking up the bill.’
In a perfect twist of political irony, a company owned by a Reform UK councillor Andrew Harrison has been hit with over £1m for employing illegal workers.
The very issue his party claims it alone will solve

Whilst you’re there Ambassador, see if you can find Bara Brith!
Fell in love with it on a holiday there.
The Welsh are generally cracking folk!
Caerphilly in particular! ✊🏼
Do not make fun of children for believing in Santa. There's actually grown adults who believe a 78 year old man sustained a 2 cm-wide gunshot wound to the ear that completely healed in 19 days without leaving a single mark.
