Haven’t been on this platform for years, but just have to vent my absolute horror at the complete lack of empathy shown by our Prime Minister to our Australian citizens, women and children, stuck in Syria.
What a disappointment @AlboMP is.
Exceptions being child sex offender restrictions, but even then, they should be the same restrictions that are applied to citizens on release from prison.
Oh so disappointed @andrewjgiles - why aren’t you just pointing out that hundreds (if not thousands) of prisoners are released into the community every day?
If someone has served their time in prison they should not be subjected to further continual punishment.
@MikeCarlton01 Thanks for giving an honest assessment of a truly appalling human. Too much tiptoeing around the revolting facts. There are lots of us who’ve been watching his impact on refugee lives in grief and disgust and we’re delighted to see the rest of the country catching up.
“You need a right winger in there – people smugglers will be watching..’
Further reason for a Royal Commission into offshore processing which has cost tens of billions, many lives, and was conducted in a period of now suspect Departmental impartiality. https://t.co/DGZnnmtQII
This person's manipulation of public sentiment has resulted in a tragic situation. Just think about the potential revelations that could emerge from a Royal Commission investigation
The bottom line is that the more fossil fuel we dig out of the ground the more fucked we are. No amount of magical accounting or screaming about wedges will change that equation in any way whatsoever.
I cannot emphasise this enough: there is no scenario in which the government will be unable to pass the $20 a week change to the JobSeeker rate.
I am sorry they are causing so much distress by pretending otherwise. Once again playing games with no regard for the harm they cause.
What’s going on with the Federal Labor Govt?
If we wanted a Liberal Party I’m sure the majority would have voted for one.
US policy,China policy,Climate policy!
More Independent/crossbench next election.
Albanese on #RaiseTheRate: "We don't want to disincentivise people from work".
Me: so people must go cold, hungry and homeless, including hundreds of thousands with chronic illnesses and disabilities, to incentivise them to work in non-existent jobs.
Vile stuff. #qt#auspol
FFS when can we turn on the radio, read a newspaper, watch television and hear about the govt making huge efforts to house Australians, make healthcare affordable and invest in public education?
Sick of hearing about us becoming a client state of the USA.
Not what I expected!
After all we’ve learnt on Robodebt, it’s appropriate that Kathryn Campbell resign. But this wasn’t the responsibility of just one woman.
The politicians, lawyers & bureaucrats who enabled this disgraceful and illegal fraud should all be held to account.
Ohhh boy... I literally said I was disabled with chronic illnesses which nobody will employ me because of them... Poverty is not a great motivator when it literally makes you sick and suicidal. It has the opposite effect and makes people give up
