In summer of 480 BC, the Persian king Xerxes I arrived at the narrow coastal pass of Thermopylae with an army numbering in the hundreds of thousands. Waiting for him were 300 Spartans and roughly 700 Thespians under a king named Leonidas.
The pass itself was the point. At its narrowest, it measured perhaps 15 meters across. In that gap, numbers became nearly irrelevant.
Xerxes sent a messenger first. The demand was simple: surrender your weapons.
Leonidas sent back two words. 'Molon labe.' Come and take them.
For two days, the Greek force held. Wave after wave of Persian soldiers entered the pass and did not come out. The Spartan phalanx, drilled to operate as a single organism, was almost impossible to break in that kind of terrain.
Then a local man named Ephialtes went to the Persian camp. He knew a goat path through the mountains that came out behind the Greek position. He told Xerxes about it hoping for a reward.
When Leonidas learned of the betrayal the following morning, he made a calculation. He sent the allied Greek forces back. He kept the Spartans and the Thespians, who chose to stay.
What happened next was not a defense. It was a statement.
Leonidas led his men away from the pass and toward the Persian army, fighting into the larger force rather than holding the narrow ground. By the time the battle ended, Leonidas was dead. So were most of the men who had stayed with him.
Xerxes, reportedly furious at the cost of the engagement, ordered Leonidas's head separated from his body and mounted on a stake.
But something had shifted in the Greek world.
At Salamis, two months later, the Athenian fleet destroyed the Persian navy. At Plataea, the following year, a combined Greek army drove the Persian land forces out of Greece entirely. Neither victory was certain. Both may have been impossible without Thermopylae.
Not because 300 men could stop an empire.
Because those three days showed the rest of Greece that an empire could bleed.
Leonidas did not save Greece at Thermopylae. He bought Greece the time to save itself.
Three hundred Spartans. Seven hundred Thespians. A mountain path they could not hold.
And two words carved into the history of the ancient world: come and take them.
The poet Simonides composed an epitaph for the fallen at Thermopylae. Ancient sources preserve his lines: 'Go, tell the Spartans, stranger passing by, that here, obedient to their laws, we lie.' The original stone is long gone, but the words survived in the ancient record and are still quoted more than 2,500 years later.

Frederik The Great, a Friesian stallion with a breathtakingly luxurious mane. Frederik is owned by the Pinnacle Friesians farm in the Ozark Mountains in the U.S. Described as a gentle giant by his owners, he is considered the most photogenic horse in the world.
Over the years, black Friesian horse stallion Frederik The Great has earned himself a flurry of nicknames, including real-life Black Beauty, Storybook Stallion and Fabio Of Horses. He is now considered the “most handsome horse in the world” since gaining the title in 2016. Born in The Netherlands, Frederik The Great was imported aged six into the United States by owner Stacy Nazario, who runs a horse farm called Pinnacle Friesians in Arkansas’ Ozark Mountains. Her farm specialises in breeding Friesian stallions, a breed that has almost become extinct a number of times.
He is named after the 18th Century CE, Prussian monarch, Frederick the Great. According to Stacy, who also rides him in dressage competitions, Frederik is “quite aware of his good looks”. He lights up when he’s in the arena or when there is photography going on. It’s almost like watching a celebrity.
Frederik, whose hair changes according to his mood, and reaches down to the ground when standing, is in such demand that his owners have even started offering his services for breeding.
His Facebook page has amassed 90,000 likes from fans around the globe and videos of him have gained over 23 million views on You Tube. He has a busy schedule of media commitments and his earnings from appearances, photo shoots and adverts on social media add up to about $20,000 a month. Frederik will contribute so many attributes to his offspring some of which would include height, performance potential, wonderful temperament, conformation, excellent gaits, smooth transitions, a great willingness to work, very strong black gene, and tons of hair, they wrote in an advertisement.
Friesian horses are recognised for their majestic stamp, prized for their strength, versatility and elegance. The breed’s history dates back to 13th Century CE, hailing from The Netherlands and also known as the “Belgian Black”.

@TakeProfitLLC The #1 trading skill is to develop a discipline. The ability to stay patient, wait for the highest probability setups, follow the plan without emotion, and consistently execute the same process day after day.
Quick take on the Iran situation:
Trump says negotiations are going well and the US could be out in two to three weeks. The Iranian president hinted they have the will to end the war. Markets reacted strongly. Dow up 1,100 points, S&P up 2.9%, Nasdaq up 3.8%, and oil dropping hard. Pure relief rally.
But Iran’s parliament and IRGC are denying any real talks and calling it fake news. At the same time, they are threatening attacks on US companies in the region starting April 1 if more Iranian leaders are targeted. The rhetoric is heating up, not cooling down.
So are markets pricing in peace that does not exist, or is this just negotiation theater, and the dip buy is justified?
Feels like a classic contradiction. One bad headline or failed talks could reverse this fast.
Anyone positioning short here or waiting for confirmation? Thoughts?
@EliteOptions2 What is your ticker, if you do not mind sharing? I like the idea of trading just a few, or even one, but I am trying to narrow it down and choose between NVDA, MSFT, AMZN, AAPL, META, SPY, or SPX. Thank you for sharing
