NES Grade 4 students are lending a helping hand to our friends at Lincoln Street School by collecting sap from our maple trees that LSS will turn into "liquid gold!" The sap was running in Newfields today!

The Character Parade is the culminating activity to our Read Across America Week. The students have thoroughly enjoyed this week and they did an excellent job of dressing up as their favorite book character! Many thanks to Mrs. Lieberman for organizing this extraordinary week.

It's Read Across America Week at NES and today is SUPER STRIPE DAY! Tomorrow the NPTO cooks up Green Eggs and Ham! Always a good idea to have an usual week of interesting events prior to a vacation week. Thank you Beth Lieberman for organizing a great week for our students.

Today, I spoke to 4th grader Greta and her classmates about the importance of protecting our environment. Recently, they wrote to me expressing their concern for the plants and wildlife impacted by the Amazon fires. I'm proud of these young Granite Staters for speaking out!

Senator Maggie Hassan met with our students this morning. The students asked her to speak about the Amazon wildfires and activism. A good portion of her time was spent answering student questions.

We held our Scripps National Spelling Bee Championship this morning in Newfields! Congratulations Sylvie!

My favorite Newfield School event is when the EHS Honors Spanish class visits our kindergarten. The students come with children's books they have written and illustrated in Spanish. The books are extraordinary. The students lovingly share their work. The experience is AMAZING!

The Grade Five Wax Museum is happening this morning. Student presentations ranging from Betsy Ross to Jackie O to Gretzsky and Renaldo. Parents and friends can come and hear an inspiring speech memorized by each student about the person they researched for this project.
