Prof. @FDesplentere gave an interesting talk on 'Energy optimization during polymer processing', as a part of a https://t.co/W1bKbFG92p education at the Circular Materials Center in Kortrijk. 👨🏫
Busy day in our rheology-lab! 👨🔬 Our newest GÖTTFERT Rheograph 25, the Instron capillary rheometer and the advanced RheoArt capillary rheometer help us to understand the rheological behaviour of polymers for research and industrial purposes.
Last week, Frederik Desplentere welcomed the third year students of VIVES Hogeschool on our campus in Bruges! During the course, the students learned everything about using the numerical simulation tool Moldflow to understand and follow the injection molding process.💻
New rheological equipment at ProPoliS 🙌 Our new Rheograph 25 by GÖTTFERT arrived in our lab. This new capillary rheometer allows us to perform advanced rheological measurements.
Frederik Desplentere and our master students visited Moderna in Izegem. The company is a global leader in creating and producing well designed plastic products for the pet industry. An inspiring and interesting opportunity for our students to take a look behind the scenes! 🐈
Teambuilding-time! ProPoliS went on a teambuilding last week, starting off with an escape room and ending with a delicious BBQ! The sun was on our side: what a fantastic way to start the summer ☀ Thank you Frederik, Bart and Sofie to organize this event!
ProPoliS was present at the graduation ceremony last Thursday 6/7 in Bruges, to celebrate all students receiving a Master's degree in Engineering Technology. Congratulations to all of you and good luck in your future professional career 🙌
Our colleague Cédric De Schryver successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled ‘Magnetically controlled morphology of short ferromagnetic fibres in viscous fluids’. Congratulations Cédric 🙌
Read the interesting article of our PhD colleague Maxim Vandaele, that is recently published within the Polymer Engineering and Science Journal. Congratulations!

Our master students Polymer Processing defended their master thesis yesterday! An exciting day for the students to show the results of their hard work of the past year to an audience of both industrial and academic jury members. We wish you all the best in your future career!
ProPoliS attended the ICNF - International Conference on Natural Fibers where both Sofie Verstraete and Eshetie Kassegn presented the most recent updates on their research. It was a wonderful experience and a nice opportunity to connect with other researchers in the field!
We welcomed prof. Antonio Pontes at KU Leuven Brugge for a 'Meet the jury'-seminar in the context of the internal PhD defense of our colleague Cédric De Schryver. He is head of the DONE Lab at the University of Minho and presented his research on additive manufacturing.
ProPoliS was present at the 38th PPS conference in St Gallen, from 22 until 26 May! Prof. Frederik Desplentere and PhD-researchers Willem Lippens, Majid Mokarizadeh, Rasoul Varedi, Ward Vandaele, Ineke Velghe and Sam Haenen presented their research throughout the week.
Proud to announce that the work 'Short Flax Fibres and Shives as Reinforcements in Bio Composites: A Numerical and Experimental Study on the Mechanical Properties' of Sofie Verstraete and team is published open access in Polymers (MDPI). Check it out via https://t.co/2tJSz2dp4K.
Our PhD researcher Maxim Vandaele presented his work 'Validation of a thermal model for the heating stage of the rotational moulding of an amorphous polycarbonate' on the annual meeting of the Belgian Polymer Group (BPG) in Houffalize at 22 and 23 May 2023. Well done Maxim 👏🏻
Looking back on our interesting week at PPS38 where our PhD researchers Rasoul Varedi, Majid Mokarizadeh and Ward Vandale presented their work on the third and fourth day of the conference in Switzerland!
Looking back on our interesting week at PPS38 where our PhD researchers Willem Lippens, Sam Haenen, Ineke Velghe presented their work on the second day of the conference in Switzerland!
