Basic informative video on current events and the rise of modern fascism and I tend to agree, what we're seeing right now is the system moving to protect itself with violence because the core foundations of the class system are crumbling as the boomers age and die off.
@redf0undation makhnovschina mentioned, platformism is okay, its more their attempt to correct what they saw as the mistakes made by the movement and there is more or less competing ideas on what those reasons and mistakes were that differ
@Maquis722 electoralism is just a dead end at the end of the day, but in that sense i think we're further ahead understanding that than most ppl in the west since our system is such an undemocratic joke, at least the kids and younger generations are picking up on that
However they can chop up the land and the ppl that live inside it will like, 95% of the time give them the statistical outcome they want. They have math freaks and statisticians running all these numbers for their campaigns when they draw the districts, we're just math to them.
The reason why voter misinformation and apathy is so high in america is cuz ppl are just so dissillusioned with the political system at this point, they don't bother to get informed or vote cuz for like 80% of americans their local area is guaranteed to be one way or the other.
@Maquis722 its hard to get ppl to imagine politics outside of the 2-party binary and elections being the only thing most ppl do, its just tons of apathy, people don't care about politics so they don't get informed or vote cuz every cycle we affect nothing, our votes affect nothing
Every fucking cycle my address is in a new district so they can further cut up the map however they like, but this is literally the core of the american political system; land decides who wins control, not votes. That's why rural/swing voters have outsized power in elections.
@Maquis722 but even then in primaries parties can pull all sort of fuck shit to make sure their preferred candidate usually gets away with the nomination, and getting nominated by the ruling party in the area guarantees you'll win in ur election pretty much, so why would people care? Its bs
@Maquis722 when you live in a solid red or solid blue country its pretty much just a joke to vote in elections locally or federally if ur in a red state/blue state, its already guaranteed which way the wind will blow like 90% of the time before the elections happen, primaries matter more
