This afternoon in Marble Hill, a New Yorker was shot by an ICE agent in a residential neighborhood. Early reports indicate agents surrounded him and a 5-year-old child in his car before firing multiple rounds. We believe the child was physically unharmed.
This is an unconscionable and incredibly serious situation. I have called the President; when we speak I will demand that he ends all ICE enforcement actions in our city. I will not stand by while ICE agents terrorize our communities.
Our thoughts are with the injured New Yorker and his family tonight. We are praying for his recovery.
Get ICE out of our neighborhoods. Get ICE out of our hospitals. Get ICE off our streets. Get ICE away from our children.
Abolish ICE.

Members of ICE, while in plain clothes, abducted someone at the LA airport.
How did we verify they were ICE and not a trafficking cartel?
Is there a meaningful difference?
NEW: DHS agents tracked people observing ICE arrests, photographed them, ran their plates, pulled personal information, and added them to a Palantir database, according to newly unsealed court filings.

SCOTUS will decide the 1225(b) vs 1226(a) immigrayiom detention saga by June next year.
Only the 5th and the 8th Circuit have ruled in favor of Govt's reading of 1225(b) as applying to every noncitizen found in the interior following a EWI, the rest of the circuits ruled against but with dissent.
The cert grant is not a surprise, but still
One of the most important immigration cases in a generation. The Trump admin claims a 1996 law mandated the detention of millions without a right to seek bond, yet no one noticed until 2025.
A victory would greenlight mass detention at levels not seen since Japanese internment.
More than 460 district judges of all ideologies have rejected ICE's policy in thousands of cases, while just 54 — primarily Trump appointees — have sided with the administraiton's view. Appeals courts ruled 9-2 against the policy as well.

Wow. @DHSOIG did a surprise inspection of the Krome detention center in Miami in May 2025, at the peak of overcrowding.
They found a system in total breakdown; every part of the facility was over capacity, detainees were commingled, and the kitchen was serving unsafe food.

When everyone is a priority, no one is a priority. That means that Mullin and ICE are going to treat a murderer who just got here with the same level of priority as a guy who’s been here for 25 years raising a family and living like a saint.
That’s bad for so many reasons.
Your government shouldn’t lie to you. That’s what @DHSgov is doing here.
Yes, entering the country illegally is a misdemeanor, it’s true. But millions of undocumented immigrants entered legally and their status expired. That’s not a crime, and neither is their presence criminal.
🚨BREAKING: An ICE/Border Patrol agent approached a U.S. citizen at a gas station, in Lake Worth, Florida, demanded his ID, and when the U.S. citizen asked why? …
The agent’s said, “Because you’re an immigrant.”
Except that is not how the Constitution works.
In the video, the U.S. citizen is standing at a gas station when an agent walks up and says, “Let me see your ID.”
The man asks a completely reasonable question, “Why?”
The agent responds, “Because you’re an immigrant.”
And before the man has even been identified, the agents grab his hands and puts him in handcuffs.
People standing around immediately start questioning what is happening…asking the agents how they can arrest someone when they haven’t even identified who he is…
But the agents ignore them and walk the man to their vehicle.
The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures. The Supreme Court has held that roving Border Patrol agents need reasonable suspicion, based on specific circumstances, to stop someone and question them about immigration status. And apparent ethnicity, by itself, is not enough.
So, what was the actual legal basis for demanding this man show his ID?
Because if the answer is literally… “because you’re an immigrant,” that should piss off every American.
You should not have to prove you’re a U.S. citizen before the government decides it has the right to put you in handcuffs.
And this is just another reminder that constitutional rights don’t mean anything if federal agents can violate them, over and over again, with no accountability.

Video from Jackson Heights, Queens today appears to show NYPD enforcing a physical barrier between community response to ICE operating what witnesses described as a “checkpoint” wherein ICE (illegally?) blocked the street and detained a driver.
