Today, NewSETA welcomed members of the Commonwealth Club of the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC). The visit provided an opportunity to showcase NewSETA’s work in democracy and youth empowerment, while exploring potential areas for collaboration.
The first semester of the 11th edition of REPAIR came to a close with heartfelt farewell speeches as participants said their goodbyes. They now move on to the next phase of the program , the Pass-It-On (PIO) phase, where they pass on the knowledge acquired to their peers.
Strategies for Advocacy and engagement with public institutions–Dr. Sakah Bernard
The last session of the day underscored the importance of advocacy, types of advocacy, and the key tools or approaches in advocacy, as well as the process of advocacy.
"Servant Leader, Your Community needs You”- Mr. Tata Evans
This session demystified the concept of leadership and emphasized the importance of young leaders taking initiative to address community challenges, no matter how small.
Project Proposal Writing - Mm. Ngega Vanessa
The first session of Day 3 focused on equipping participants with practical skills to identify community problems and develop appropriate solutions. The session explored the key components of a project proposal and developing a budget
Corruption, ethics and leading with integrity Mr. Lucain Nyassi
This interactive session was designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of integrity in everyday leadership and community engagement.
My journey as a youth champion in Local governance and Development- Mr. Henri Severin Assembe
This experience-sharing session focused on discussing real-life experiences, challenges encountered, and practical ways to overcome them.
Leadership for Radical Times: Creating Exponential Value in a Challenging World – Mme Nono Sonkouat epse Jinkwen Mylène Claire
The objective of this session was to understand leadership in complex contexts, identify key leadership mindsets, and learn strategies to create impact.
Techniques for Community Mobilizing and Organizing for local development– Mr. Jimm Chick
This session examined the core principles and key features of effective community mobilization. It also highlighted practical techniques for organizing communities to take collective action.
Moving from Tokenism to Meaningful Youth Participation (MYP) in Local policy making-Mr. Ndzi Derick
During this reflective session, Mr. Ndzi examined the different levels of participation, and discussed practical examples and approaches to improving meaningful youth engagement.
Advocacy Session: VOTE 18 – Ms. Nanyongo Candy
The Vote18 campaign is an ongoing advocacy initiative championed by NewSETA for over a decade. During this session, Ms Nanyongo explored the reasons for this campaign, actions NewSETA has carried out so far, as we well as the outcome

This interactive and practical session explored effective strategies for youth leaders to actively engage in community development initiatives.
Community Mapping: A vital entry point for Meaningful Youth Participation in Local Governance and development- Mr. Ndzi Divine
The objective of this session was to expatiate on Community Mapping as a community resource used to highlight community problems and needs.
Understanding the frameworks of Decentralization and Local Governance in Cameroon– Dr. Eloundou Theodore
This session addressed the legal and institutional frameworks governing decentralisation in Cameroon, as well as the challenges of local governance
