Ahead of #UnionBudget2026, @PTI_News highlighted our co-founder @nishantXchandra views on why execution-led funding modern labs, shared compute infra, and internship-linked incentives matters as enrolment grows faster than employability
VIDEO | Union Budget 2026: Education sector seeks targeted funding for modern labs, shared compute infra, internship-linked incentives in Budget.
Ahead of the Union Budget for financial year 2026โ27, the education sector is calling for a shift from policy announcements to execution, with targeted funding for modern laboratories, shared compute infrastructure and internship-linked incentives to improve graduate employability.
Nishant Chandra, co-founder of Newton School, said these measures are critical as higher education enrolment expands rapidly but job readiness among graduates remains uneven.
โIndiaโs higher education enrollment has crossed 4.3 crores and gross enrollment ratio is at 28.4 per cent, but employability across graduates still sits only at 50 to 55 per cent,โ Chandra said, adding that this gap becomes more serious as India moves towards a target enrolment ratio of 50 per cent.

Imagine uncovering lost works, reconstructing forgotten languages, and piecing together untold histories. AI is not just about the future, itโs rewriting the past.
AI is revolutionising our understanding of ancient texts! From Herculaneum's charred scrolls to India's Sanskrit manuscripts, here's how technology is unlocking humanity's past.
Does generative AI cause this shift?
Yes. AIโs ability to analyse user behaviour and predict content preferences has made manual tagging (like hashtags) less relevant.
Generative AI is reshaping how platforms deliver personalised content.
What does this mean for other social media platforms?
Platforms like Instagram and TikTok already rely less on hashtags, favouring algorithmic personalisation.
Twitterโs move may push others further away from hashtag dependency.
Weโre kicking off the start of our Gemini 2.0 era with Gemini 2.0 Flash, which outperforms 1.5 Pro on key benchmarks at 2X speed (see chart below). Iโm especially excited to see the fast progress on coding, with more to come.ย
Developers can try an experimental version in AI Studio and Vertex AI today. It is also available to try in @GeminiApp on the web today, mobile coming soon.
๐จ Googleโs Gemini 2.0 Flash sets a new gold standard in AI performance!
With groundbreaking results in SWE-bench Verified, it now leads the pack in generating accurate, production-level solutions.
Here's the breakdown and why it matters. ๐งต
