Even after winning the Golden Ball twice,Mbappe is still regarded as Mr. World Cup despite playing in 4 World Cups less than Messi.

Because he has played against better teams and performed compared to Messi, who always hides under performing against amateurs.

In the 2026 World Cup campaign, Messi didn’t win it, and he had an impressive run playing against countries that aren’t even ranked in the top 50 in the world. Mbappe didn’t win it either, but he was the top scorer and he also performed against top countries.

If you say Mbappe can’t win it even with that performance in the wolrd cup, then Messi can’t win it either.
