「SQLiteがおもちゃDBと呼ばれた時代が、終わろうとしている」が3万再生を超えていました。コメントも180件きていたので、再度まとめてみました。一番刺さっていたのが「軽くて速いのは知ってたけど、テストコードがアホほど多くて堅牢という話は初耳だった」という声でした。 Androidの中身で使われているから軽量さは知られていても、その堅牢さの裏側まで知っている人は意外と少なかったようです。全体の温度感としては「おもちゃ」という言葉そのものへの違和感が目立ちました。「『おもちゃ』とか言う奴で、まともなエンジニア見たことない。LinuxやPostgreSQLでさえ昔はおもちゃと言われてた」というコメントには、長く現場を見てきた重みがありました。一方で「軽さの代わりに機能は極限まで削られていて、サーバDBがやってくれる禁則処理をアプリ側で担う必要がある」という冷静な指摘も。「読み書き前提のDBと読み取り主体のDBを切り分けると新しい設計が見えてくる」という視点や、「Rails 8で本番環境のデフォルトDBに正式採用された」という具体的な動きも共有されていて、評価の潮目が変わってきている空気を感じました。ここで意見が分かれていたのが、Accessのレガシーシステム置き換えの話題でした。「accdbが2GBを超える前に移行を」という提案に対して、「DB自体の移行はそんなに難しくない。問題はフォーム関連なんだ」「フォームが直接テーブルを操作するからね…なんなんアレ」と、移行経験者ならではのコメントが続いていきました。軽量DBへの置き換えはデータ構造より、その上に乗っている業務ロジックの引き剥がしこそが本番なのだと、読んでいて改めて考えさせられました。

In a recent interview, Abubakar Salim (actor for Bayek in Assassin’s Creed Origins) stated that the upcoming Netflix Show needs to stick to the core Assassin's Creed elements: “the Creed itself, the historical elements of it, and the core modern-day stuff”. Salim stated that reinventing and deviating too far away from the source material would not work and that the creative team should focus on preserving the elements that made the games popular with the franchise's original fans. “It just needs its core, which is the Creed itself, the historical elements of it, and the core modern-day stuff as well. (…)” He also stated “You just have to think of the community that brought it to life in the first place. You have to give them what they loved at the beginning” “Especially with something like Assassin's Creed, where it's had so many years in the game space, you have to listen to the fans there in regards to really paying service and homage to it.” Do you agree with this?
