Upon the arrival of our leader, Dr. Bukola Saraki, in Ilorin today, I had the privilege of accompanying him on a courtesy visit to the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki.

We later paid homage to our revered royal father, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, where my running mate, Rev. C.O.S. Fawenu, was formally presented to His Royal Highness. We were deeply honoured to receive the royal father’s blessings, prayers, and goodwill for our journey ahead.

We remain grateful for the wisdom, prayers, and guidance of our traditional and religious leaders as we continue our commitment to serving the people of Kwara.

Today, that dream is becoming a reality.

A friend of mine had a dream of building his own filling station, but he could only raise about 25% of the capital through family and friends. The remaining 75% seemed impossible.

With nothing left to lose, he decided to send a detailed proposal directly to the Governor.

I have a young friend (from Offa) here who got admission into Stanford about four years ago and was running around to raise funds as it was only partly funded.

He submitted a letter to Governor AA for financial support. Government protocols and all that delayed the approval process.

He got the number of the governor directly and chatted him up and shared a copy of the letter on Whatsapp.

Shockingly, the governor responded and within a few days, he got dollar equivalent of N15m paid to him.

When he narrated it to me, I was surprised.

He is doing very well after his Stanford program now and still says hello to the governor once in a while. Surprised at such responsiveness to a private citizen.
