Congratulations to Danielle Smith!
Alberta now has:
- the LOWEST minimum wage in Canada (frozen since 2018)
- HIGHEST auto insurance increases (up 21%)
- a UCP Fuel Tax (2023)
• Business fees up +33%
The Alberta Advantage is dying under Smith’s Separatist Agenda
I am so tired of the hoards of UPC supporters blaming Notley or the Feds for the 2023 energy spike. This is 100% Jason Kenny. This is both a well known fact and public record. Please, just grow up..
If you watched CTV Calgary this morning you have seen what The Calgary Chamber Of Commerce has said about separation.
Half of all businesses would LEAVE Alberta.
They call it insanity to be even discussing leaving Canada.
Danielle Smith in a now a confirmed lunatic.
The UCP and Danielle Smith are moving forward with their ill-conceived plan to move many of Alberta's most vulnerable residents from AISH to ADAP, a program that will push people even further below the poverty line.
Today, we learned that the UCP is paying foreign contractors nearly $100 million to administer this cruel and ineffective scheme.
Every time this government appears to hit rock bottom in their agenda of chaos, cuts, corruption, and cruelty, they keep digging.
Albertans deserve a better government, one that helps lift people out of poverty, not pushes them further down. Alberta’s New Democrats will be that government.

There is currently nothing in place to hold governments accountable for not listening to what actions or changes people actually want in their province.
The UCP keeps passing their own agenda and making decisions that they did not campaign on prior to the last election, or decisions that they insisted they would never make.
Danielle Smith is continuously changing the rules in favour of her friends and whatever her party wants. Now she is running a referendum without a single question proposed by any petition.
Currently thousands of Albertans who have already presented medical assessments showing that they cannot work are being forced out of AISH and into ADAP. Their monthly support has already been cut by $200, when the cost of living is increasing.
Albertans need to hold a province wide protest to show the UCP that their political overreach will no longer be tolerated, that the writ needs to dropped, and the move to ADAP must be cancelled.
The point of a referendum is to gauge public opinion on a subject, not shape it. As usual, Smith is not interested in what Albertans want.
"She looked me in the eye and said 'Well, we have a particular outcome we want for these questions so we frame them a certain way.'"
Alberta is projecting a $9.4B deficit after an estimated $4.1B deficit last year, yet Danielle Smith thinks it's a good use of taxpayer money to spend $100M on overseas private companies to force severely disabled Albertans into work. She's a fucking ghoul #ABpoli#ABleg
