With heavy hearts, we confirm the loss of @NHPSouthernComm Trooper Micah May #6203. He was struck while deploying stop-sticks on I-15 attempting to apprehend an armed carjacking suspect. The suspect’s vehicle struck Trooper May, who suffered life-threatening injuries.

Gracelyn, 6, from Pahrump loves the Highway Patrol (see the uniform incl the Sgt Jenkins patch and smile!). On Friday the SC PIO and Troops from Pahrump met up w/her at a local park as she took care of the ducks. Gracelyn got to meet the Troops and tour patrol cars. Great to see!

Trooper of the week: Trp. Saul Bermudez/Tonopah is 1 of 2 Trps in the rural community w/largest geographical beat of NV duty stations. Trp has served Tonopah his entire 9 year career. Trp Bermudez remains active logging 120+ stops last month for hazardous violations. Great work!

Had the honor to graduate our 8 newest Troopers to field training this afternoon. Yesterday they joined me for traditional Colonel's workout & lunch and today they got their campaign hats and badges. All 8 are assigned to urban Las Vegas. Congratulations Highway Patrol Class 89

Appeared to make furtive movements toward the child. Trooper Provost made decision to utilize a police intervention technique and disabled the vehicle, taking the driver into custody and rescuing the child! Great Job Trooper Provost!

Trooper of the week: Trp Kevin Provost/LV found a driver in crisis threatening the life of her child & others. With help of others he tried to stop the car. He could see the child in the back screaming in fear. Driver had black object in hand believed to be a weapon. (1/2)

Labor Day weekend was busy for your Highway Patrol...statewide, between Friday & Monday, Troopers:

made 2085 traffic stops
issued 1400+ citations for dangerous driving
removed 54 impaired drivers from the highways

and fortunately, did not have to investigate any fatal crashes!

Trooper of the Week: Trp Hannah DeGoey/Reno is the PIO for N. Cmd West & has a true passion for traffic safety & our mission. Trp DeGoey is well known w/media outlets, proactively getting out our safety messaging. She also teaches at academy & helps with recruiting events. 👏👏

Trooper of the week: Trp Justin Ramsey has served Orvada his entire 16 yrs w/NHP in NE NV, showing amazing dedication to the community. In the past 2 weeks-133 stops, aided 8 motorists, inspected 3 CMV's & handled a crash. This is typical of Trp Ramsey. Thank you for great work!

Trooper of the week: The LV DUI task force began 8/2018. In the first 2 years, Trp Deb Huff/LV has proven herself time & time again as a DUI expert. She has personally made 519 DUI arrests while being the LV areas premier FST/DRE instructor. Amazing work keeping our roads safe!
