Notes I've taken today at Team NJ:
- lots of great energy ⚡
- asking teammates in the dugout if they got a first pitch strike after a new pitcher went in 🤓
- learning from mistakes and making adjustments 💪
- love her fire 🔥
- dirty uniform, diving all over
@lexijordan_15 has continued to work towards being a front end pitcher! Commands the zone and able to throw 4 pitches in any count. Also solid in the outfield and coming off an 11 hit/12 RBI first tourney weekend. 💪💪
Coaches- @AbbyCraig2028 is a true 5 tool player. + defender behind the plate or at SS and 3rd. Strong arm, athletic. Hard worker. Consistent bat producing consistently in the middle of the lineup…power to all fields.
You won’t regret taking a look if you’re out and about this weekend!
When your mindset is "I get to go to practice" instead of "I have to go to practice"...THATS when you'll know you love the process and have a chance at reaching your dreams.
COACHES: When you’re on your deathbed you’re going to be surrounded by people, not trophies.
Winning is important.
It will never stop being important.
But how you treat people along the way will always be more important.

🚨 BIG SHOWCASE TOURNAMENTS AREN’T JUST ABOUT PLAYING WELL 🚨
The athletes who stand out the most before big showcase events are usually the ones who PREPARE the best.
That preparation starts with communication.
Here’s a simple timeline athletes should follow before a showcase tournament 👇
📅 2-3 WEEKS BEFORE: ✅ Send your initial email to coaches Include: • Name / Grad Year / Position • GPA + key metrics • Travel team name • Tournament schedule • Jersey number • Highlight video • Why you’re interested in their program
This gives coaches time to plan where they want to watch.
📅 5-7 DAYS BEFORE: ✅ Send a short follow-up email Coaches get hundreds of emails. A follow-up helps put your name back in front of them.
Include: • Updated schedule if needed • Any recent accomplishments • A quick reminder of where they can watch you
📅 NIGHT BEFORE OR MORNING OF: ✅ Send a quick game-day reminder Keep this VERY short.
Example: “Coach Smith, Excited to compete this weekend. Our first game is at 10:30 AM on Field 4. Looking forward to hopefully seeing you there!”
📅 AFTER THE TOURNAMENT: ✅ Follow up again Thank coaches for their time. Share any updates, lessons learned, or upcoming schedule information.
Remember:
College coaches recruit athletes who communicate consistently and professionally — not just athletes who perform well for one weekend.
Preparation matters. Communication matters. Details matter.
The athletes who treat recruiting like part of their sport usually separate themselves over time.
