This is why the Soc Dems can never be allowed to get into power in Ireland. Their inability to read the room and understand why the majority were outraged by this video is off the scale.
Leaving aside the believe there are more than two genders.
Social Democrats TD Gary Gannon has said that the decision of the Minister for Justice to remove an ad which sought to promote discussions about consensual hugs sets a "dangerous precedent".

It’s all over American and European news agencies that Ireland discourages grandparents from hugging their grandchildren. Between that and trying to put an X on Birth Certs yesterday, this country is woke and f&£k*d.
Answer: Stop Electing Woke Nutjobs .
🇮🇪 The Irish state has published an advert discouraging grandparents from hugging their grandchildren, as part of a campaign designed to promote "consent".
It’s shocking and mind-blowing that so many so-called intelligent people elected to run our country believe in a fantasy made ideological notion that a person can be neither Male Or Female and voted yes to calling them X on birth certificate.
Take note of all their names for the next election.
It’s no wonder the country is gone to pot.
Leaked video from the Government Department of Overthinking and a few state agencies
Ireland’s next consent campaign.
The baby’s solicitor has been notified and the mother is on notice.
It’s satire but not too far from the truth I imagine. Changing nappies is next.
It’s rare you see a sensible outcome to public opinion. Fair play to @OCallaghanJim but will he now look into the funding of the groups involved and who made the decision to pass this video as clearly they don’t have the public support.
The video produced by the DRCC involving grandparents does not represent the views of the Government. It was both inappropriate and demeaning to grandparents and has been removed by DRCC following my officials engagement with them.
The world has gone bonkers with negative news. For a break away from all the negativity, listen to our new podcast. Just a a husband and wife talking about fun stuff. Listen to the latest episode in replies and Karens Menopause is back "Don't Call Me Darling" :
@__rebelrebel I’ve never pinched anybody’s “arse”. I do remember discussing on radio “national arse pinching day” and how wrong it was over 10 years ago. So you clearly have it wrong.
So unless you have evidence of me personally doing something like that I’d remove that defamatory comment.
@LGKAKIIKI I don’t disagree and I had a few of those aunties and uncles but am i traumatised for life? No .
You can teach consent without demonising grandparents
Listen to the whole show here and the real reacrtion to the ad campaign and not the desperation by Liveline to find people who thinks its a good idea. Listen here to real opinions and real people with sense. https://t.co/sVB7SxzOKD
Today on the show we discussed the video below and @EddiePunch and callers joined me and condemned the campaign that seems to demonise Grandparents. Is there anybody who thinks this ad campaign was appropriate. Listen to the whole show in the replies:
Once again the world is laughing at us and the woke bolloxology we promote.
What next? New laws to lock up Mothers and Fathers who don’t ask their babies for consent before hugging or kissing them?
Who sanctioned this waste of tax payers money?
‘Oh come, sweet asteroid of death… you try telling that to my Greek grandma!’
@PatrickChristys is in disbelief at a video released by the Irish state that warns grandparents over hugging their grandchildren.
Coming up on the show today at 12pm:
The latest government funded campaign in conjunction with NGOs is, “We Consent”, features grandparents arriving to visit. Their grandson welcomes them with a hug, but their granddaughter turns down their attempt to hug her and almost seems creeped out by there when they reach out for a hug.
The message is that children should be asked for consent before they’re hugged. Some people online agree, while others think it’s completely over the top. One comment said: “She won’t hug her lovely grandparents because she’s woke.”
Should parents and grandparents ask children before giving them a hug, or is this campaign a waste of money?

It's virtue-signalling gone mad... Sinn Fein, the Social Democrats and the Labour Party all back legal change to allow stillborn babies be classified as 'non-binary' https://t.co/GhLItJbxbG
