@sunveervirk I find it interesting and slightly annoying that people use the phrase “it’s 2018” as a rebuttal when in reality it minimizes the work that still needs to be done. Yes, it’s 2018, and there is still a discussion on whether women have the right to their own bodies #FHSFem18

After @cnaiduFHS presentation on Bell Hooks, the word feminism/feminist has revealed a new level of confusion for me. Am I a feminist if I’m not actively speaking out? Am I a feminist or do I wear the title like I would a bracelet; an accessory to add to my image #FHSFem18

Hoda Katebi, a fashion blogger, was asked about the politcal climate when she was there to give fashion advice. Putting people on the spot as if they are the spokesperson for other people similar to them is never right. The norm desperately needs to change. #FHSFem18

A fashion blogger presumably being interviewed about such, is suddenly asked about nuclear Iran, gives a thoughtful critique, is told she doesn't sound like an American, gives thoughtful response, and then we're back to fashion.

@Arpwel It is important to pay attention to the different types of oppression and making them a feminist issue. Calling yourself a feminist does not cure you of ignorance, you must continue to teach yourself and learn. #FHSFem18

@JoshAlan83 the fact that people of color, women and the LGBTQ+ community and their causes are seen as causing too much ruckus or “extra” is ludicrous when cities and private property are being destroyed in the name of “celebration” instead of human rights #FHSFem18

I’ve learned that feminists have been fighting against anti-immigration and mass incarceration since the 1980’s. This was interesting to me because I never hear anything about those issues being associated with feminism #FHSFem18
