It is HILARIOUS to me that this guy thinks of himself as “thoughtful”
While arguing that classical theism is both eutychian AND nestorian. Ask me how he does this.
lol.
Except you can’t have two mutually exclusive natures in a single person.
And you can’t have any meaningful distinctions whatsoever in divine simplicity.

@ThoughtfulSaint@23wjohnston Mutually exclusive. Funny. HOW (as in, show me the mechanics) is it impossible for the one person to have two nature? HOW is it impossible for God the Son (who is divine, and which you affirm so you say) to assume a human nature (which you affirm)? How? Be specific
@CatholicPrimer That is a stretch. Not saying it isn’t possible, but it is a huge stretch. Akin to my saying Joseph of Arimathea was the rich young ruler, or the transfiguration was a space time rift where it Moses and Elijah were brought forward from their time to be at the same moment
@Xtopher_Uzo Well considering the text actually specifies it is about the works of men who labor to build on the foundation of the apostles and there is nothing in it about punishment for sins, temporal or otherwise…I’ll just not take your word for it.
“Philippians 2 therefore gives no basis for positing a change in the Son's exercise of certain divine perfections or in his divine lordship.
After all, divine omniscience, divine omnipotence, divine providence, and so forth do not have an on-off switch.”
- Steven Duby
@ProvisionistP@ronhenzel@DBJ540 I agree with Ron. Everyone who is reasonable would have gotten that impression. Anyone saying otherwise is coping about it and lying.
One more dunk. Cant resist. The quote itself says that “it is a personal union (NOT a union of persons)”
It is a denial of nestorianism. I bet Jacob doesn’t know what that is either
But then again…this would require him to do the reading, which he can’t or won’t do. Why? Meh. He is LDS. Nothing surprises me when it comes to how ridiculous they are
“Thoughtful” faith guy thinks this is an own.
Let’s see. My wager is he doesn’t get this post from Steve.
The point being made is that The Divine Son (who is a person) did not come down and come into or assume a pre-existing human person (which would make two persons)/1
@ThoughtfulSaint@SteveMeisterVDM Funny thing is about that post is:
You REALLY stuck your foot in your mouth.
Either you don’t understand what Duby is saying (that is my guess) or you don’t care and are just a liar.
Want me to demonstrate why I think you don’t understand?
