I'm teaching my daughters that feminists and liberal women will NOT support them if they are abused by a left-wing man with any power
They will run the old familiar "you can't believe that bitch" playbook b/c, ultimately, they are religious zealots and their religion is politics
I bucked all advice from my friends (and resisted my conservative bias) and decided to fully trust the Times journalists.
As they left my home they asked that I not talk to any other outlets and I insisted then and repeatedly over the following weeks that I would keep my word and only share this story with them.
But then the weeks dragged on. They kept coming back to us saying the editors needed more. I needed to go on the record (okay). We need more screenshots (okay). I met every bench mark they set, eager to provide more sources or evidence as needed.
After the story went up I began to ask them … wait, where are the stories from the other women? Where are their accusations of sexual assault? Why am I the focus? Why are there 11 paragraphs dedicated to detailing my work history (more than has been published about Graham’s by far)?
Why does it say “nobody could corroborate” when I offered them sources that COULD corroborate?
Why did they include an out of context quote from a friend joking “do not call Graham” after I called off my wedding? (Because she knew I would never).
Where were the screenshots they’d said they would use? Or the mention that I’d supported local democrats and that most of my family (and husband) are liberal?
The editors said it was too much, they explained.
The Times also failed to include any mention that I DID confide in multiple friends through the years that Graham had been abusive — long before he was running for office. Those friends confirm they told the Times so.
It dawned on me that this really was a set up all along. The journalists I trusted who convinced me to share a story I never wanted to tell methodically delayed and twisted this into a gift to the Platner campaign. Violating the trust of his victims. Shattering the trust I placed in them with the most vulnerable story of my life.
And at the end of my call with them I reluctantly accepted their insistence that this was still a powerful story and that I had done a brave thing. And I thanked them for all the hard work they had put into it.
Still fawning after all these years.
This is an absolutely astonishing and shocking response from Gavin Newsom. I will have a lot more to say about it at my press conference tomorrow morning at 8.30am.
Thank you @EytanWallace for exposing just how detached from reality, and his responsibilities, the governor is.
I dated an abuser when I was 19-20, someone everyone described as a “great guy,” who never hit, but left bruises and assaulted both me AND other women he dated after me.
I’ve been very vocal about Platner because it’s been clear to me for a while what kind of guy he is. Once you’ve lived through it, it’s hard to unsee.
I’ve expected ex’s to come forward with exactly these kinds of revelations. They’ve done a brave thing that’s horrifically painful, and I back them to the hilt.
I’m a lifelong Dem, and I don’t want men like this anywhere NEAR the halls of power. (And I’ve been consistant about this across party lines, so don’t even begin a game of gotcha with me.) Men like this hate women, sure as the sun rises in the East. Just like men with SS tattoos hate Jews. Dems need to cut him out like the cancer he is. It’s only getting worse from here, that much seems very clear.

I’ve been close friends with @lyndseyfifield for fifteen years. I’ve known about Graham since they began dating. She carried a lot of trauma from their time together. I’m so proud of her for her bravery in coming forward.
🚨WOW: Nancy Pelosi just went berserk & demanded LindellTV reporter @AlisonInTheKnow "SHUT UP" and "GET AWAY FROM ME" after being asked why she blocked the National Guard on January 6.
Great work, Alison!

Biggest takeaway from this Graham Platner disaster: Even if you're the most liberal Republican in the world-- somebody who votes with Democrats as much, if not more than Republicans while having an 'R' next to your name-- the Democrat Party will still do whatever it takes to replace you with a degenerate buffoon who will vote with them 100% of the time.
Counter: You are not somehow morally obligated to default to trusting the Democrat partisans who created an election system, where the counts never end until the Democrat wins. Ignore their Huffy fake outrage – that’s designed to keep you from saying the obvious, which is they have designed the system that allows them to cheat their way to victory every single time.
@LACountyRRCC@alexanderhq Say, aren't you the guy who found hundreds of Democrat votes a month after the 2004 gubernatorial election in Washington state, flipping Republican Dino Rossi's narrow victory to Democrat Christine Gregoire?
Platner is on 100% VA disability.
Crazy you can be 100% disabled and endure the physical and psychological rigors of a highly contested Senate campaign.
