@ImATennisBall@EliLake I have. It's real, raw and unfiltered. The lyrics and emotion in those songs was so beautiful, yet sad to witness. You could feel every word through her tone. She's REAL. A REAL artist. I love that.
@ImATennisBall@EliLake The numbers, accolades, sold out shows for 30 years, millions of streams and a cult-like worldwide fan base for over 30 years off of that ONE album, says otherwise.
@ImATennisBall@EliLake Yes, we do. Her album still gets millions of streams a week, and that's only on Spotify. Not including Apple music, Amazon music, tidal, YouTube, etc. Radio also still plays her songs consistently. It's a masterpiece of an album, which is why she can still tour for it. 😊
@benjamins_st Lauryn Hill CHOSE not to marry Rohan. He's spoken on this already. Lauryn seemingly didn't want a legalized and institutional kind of marriage, and I don't blame her. She chose freedom, while still being able to experience motherhood. Her and Rohan are still close.
@DuffJuice30@Chi_Knows01 He was definitely being dismissive. He outright insinuated that she didn't know any better. Also, he asked for HER OPINION. Music taste is subjective, so no, what he said is not a fact. It's merely his arrogant and unwanted opinion. He did sound dumb as hell.
@dr_pinkflamingo She's a writer and everyone who has worked with her speaks on how cold her pen game and freestyling is. She's been writing since she was younger. Her vocabulary is extremely expansive. She deserves to be on that list.
@DDARERICK It debuted at #1 on the charts, and charted all around the world. 10 grammy nominations (the most noms a female artist had ever had at that time). Won 5 grammys (The most wins an artist had ever won in 1 night at that time). Also, the 1st Hip-Hop album to win album of the year.
@pennystocknoise Lauryn literally just walked away and went off the grid. They used the media and willing participants to try to destroy her character and legacy though, as a result. Thankfully, it didn't work. Lauryn knew what to expect though. Walking away usually comes with a consequence.
@ActsofFaithblog They haven't had the same level of success as TMEOLH. They didn't even have major success before that album. They were green and Lauryn got them as work-for-hire, and trained them to create the sound she came up with for each song. They used her success to benefit themselves.
@VAsSuperior1 Quality > Quantity. She's definitely one of top 5 best rappers of all time. Unmatched, especially when it comes to female rappers. There's a reason she's on so many people's top 5.
@corkb33 Rohan was literally there with her. He was standing in the audience. It was about how badly Wyclef treated her during and after the fugees, coupled with the lies and betrayal she experienced professionally after her album became huge. She was going through A LOT. 🥺
