@RandPaul Socialism as an alternative would be very devastating from a fiscal and economic impact. Imposing collective or public ownership will destroy markets that predict demand. Deficit spending for big government programs will bankrupt the country. We can’t fund what we have now.
@SallyMayweather In crisis people tend to look to government as a solution. The reason is a quick answer and even desperation. What really happens is our rights are usurped through actual bureaucratic empowerment. The actual problem becomes worse, or a whole new problem arises.
@AP4Liberty You are right in that ignoring the world is impossible but we also can’t get bogged down in regional conflicts that keep us there for a long time. Essentially military operations should be to eliminate an actual threat to the United States. Nation building though is a burden.
@GuntherEagleman Social Security needs to be phased out. Money contributed does not grow and in fact isn’t really there. Current generation supports the next. Dollar value decrease with different wage levels guarantees most people will withdraw more then contributed.
@Republicans The no tax on overtime comes with rules. It is better than it was but not a complete exemption from tax. The rule is a tax deduction on the first 12, 500 for single filers and 25,000 for joint filers. The real question is how do people who actually pay taxes benefit from it?
@JohnStossel@SteveForbesCEO Inflation today mostly follows supply and demand principles. Our monetary policy allows for to much government interference. Keeping interest rates low in high demand environment, only creates artificial demand making prices skyrocket. Excessive borrowing lowers value in dollar.
@RandPaul We finance most things through deficit spending. This will continue until we can’t borrow anymore. Politicians are about immediate survival and kick the can down the road.
@LPNH I don’t see to much he has done for liberty. He spends recklessly and has become a neocon in the last year. Favors federal interference in the economy which is ultimately making things more expensive.
@BernieSanders El-Sayed like yourself represents a failed system which requires the state to have control over your life. Socialism has historically failed everywhere from communist states to even infusions of it in Democratic Governments. It only stays around through totalitarian means.
@jackvlloyd Federal involvement in programs like Medicare and Medicaid gave doctors a license to steal. It created an insurance industry for everyone else.
@DennisPrattFree The true definition of socialism/communism is that it makes us all slaves to the state. Your occupation is based on what you are told to do. You can’t own property and you have no voice within the system. At best it makes everyone equally poor.
@GuntherEagleman Both parties are advocating for the welfare state. Populism in the Republican Party means borrowing more money to fund the welfare state.
@SpeakerJohnson Your campaigning on an anti socialist message but are advocating more government interference in healthcare and economy. Has a social program ever been efficient?
