So many arguing there’s no degradation at all, graceful or otherwise and everything has full functionality when you just turn a dependency off is…something.

But that’s not how dependencies work. You can gracefully degrade, but you do degrade. If it was needed, something gives.

I want to congratulate all the newly minted experts that created Twitter accounts just yesterday and thank them for informing me you can turn endpoints off whether they’re a dependency or not with no loss of functionality because “that’s how microservices work”. I had no idea!

This looks to be back online globally looking at reports going down, so removing this in a minutes to not cause confusion.

Still: please stop using SMS for 2FA! On any service you can, switch. SMS is vulnerable to hijacking. Twitter supports other methods these days.
