“Any certified air traffic controller out there, it doesn’t matter their race, color, religion, you can know you’re in the best hands”: Nick Daniels, president of @NATCA, says it takes years for a newly-hired air traffic controller to complete all of the proper tests and training in order to directly communicate with aircraft.

Daniels also told @tonydokoupil that “it is not uncommon to routinely combine…positions,” as there is currently a controller shortage in the U.S.
