Last large American refinery was built in '77 & we'll never see another newbuild again (Mike Wirth of Chevron). EVs still middle/upper class virtue signals & won't be 'affordable' for another couple of years. So WTI faces demand destruction at 140 while the lower/mid class pay?
A line of argument I'm starting to warm up to:
"Crypto is now a $3T asset class, if wealth, broadly, is $450T the index for crypto is now 60-70bps. So if you're at zero, you're actually short the crypto participation in the global economy. So no choice is a choice."
