FAA Caps ORD Summer Schedule at 2,708 Daily Operations
The FAA has issued a temporary order capping scheduled arrivals and departures at Chicago O’Hare Intl (ORD) at 2,708 ops per day from May 17 through Oct. 24, 2026. The move follows concerns that Summer 2026 schedules were outpacing airport capacity amid ongoing airfield construction, with FAA saying the goal is to reduce delays and improve on-time performance.
FAA said the limit is intended to help keep ORD operating safely and efficiently while construction continues. Carriers will need to work within the new schedule limits as the summer season gets underway.
