Just played the most unlikely #PokemonTCG game of my life.

Playing my Slowking Dusknoir deck at @Top_Deck_Keep Worlds Celebration.
My opening hand was Ultra Ball, Poke Pad, Meowth ex, Wondrous Patch, Psychic Energy, my one Switch, and a couple others I forget.
Have to start Meowth in active, so no supporter. Going 2nd vs N's Zoroark. They flip N's Reshiram, attach energy, pass.
I play Ultra Ball to find a Mega Kangaskhan, intending to switch into it to piece together some desperation play. No Kang in deck. Both prized (0.8% odds).
I get a Smoochum and one Slowpoke, use the switch and accelerate energy. I tell my opponent, "I'd really appreciate it if you cut the deck so I'll top deck a Lillie's Determination.

I top-decked a Lillie's Determination.

So I shuffle up and prepare for a deck cut and say, "Okay, now it would be great if you could make sure I draw Secret Box."

I drew Secret Box.

I had everything I needed, no more, no less, to Kyurem attack with zero cards in hand for the win. I was speechless. I really should go buy a lottery ticket today but I don't really believe in luck.

Finished the 5 rounds 4-1, losing one game vs Dragapult Dusknoir due to a bad starting hand plus I had prized the Psyduck I teched in just in case. So many one-loss tournaments this summer. Ughhhh. GGs to all anyway!

I really wanted to play this today at this World's Celebration tournament but I'm seeing a lot of Dragapult, and I saw someone re-sleeving a Manectric control deck. So Slowking Dusknoir it is! GLHF I'll let you know how things go!

4-0 drop at today's @SurgeTCG Vault online tournament with trusty Joltik Box (I had to drive up to LA today and couldn't keep playing). This "slop box" variant has been fantastic against evolution decks. Haven't gotten many reps in with the Iron Crown to see if it makes FLead & Alakazam better matchups, but it hits most other decks really hard!

I really need to figure out how to stop having these brain-fart misplays and lock in. I'm not thinking through all the possibilities to my potential, but I'm not entirely sure what the mental blockage is. I really need to figure this out before the next tournament, which is probably Baltimore Regionals. Ugh. Any advice is welcome.

R4 vs Dragapult Blaziken. They Itchy Pollened three turns, one turn too many. Had Kyurem for 3 KOs, another Kyurem to soften up Pult and KO Budew, and then Lillie's Clefairy on Pult for the win. Finished 3-1 for 3rd for $30 store credit. I guess I'm 0 for 7 for the Mid Year and Worlds tournaments. So many 3-1 finishes. Oh well. 😭
