Former US President Donald Trump is facing significant backlash for comments by claiming that the Presidential "Medal of Freedom" (which he awarded to a billionaire donor), is 'much better' than the "Medal of Honor" (the highest military decoration in the United States).

Veterans' groups have condemned the statement for diminishing the valor of Medal of Honor recipients, many of whom have been severely wounded or died in service. VFW issued an official statement, see below!
