When I was interviewing at Riot in 2017, at the end of the process they asked me what change I would make if I could make one change to League. I said I'd make Amp Tome 400g. They thought I was joking. Six years later, I've made it clear I never joke about Amp Tome
Bonus: I am taking this opportunity to switch over fully to Nick Fridge rather than Endstep. I've wanted to do this for a long time and now seems like a good time.
Some bittersweet news: Tomorrow will be my last day at Riot. I learned a lot, made lots of friends, and had an amazing experience for over 9 years, but it's time for something new.
I very much appreciate all the players and all my coworkers, and maybe I'll be back one day.
Coming to a PBE near you: Dark Seal and Mejai's now count their AP on the item itself so you don't have to do math. Hopefully will ship next patch or maybe the one after if there's more bugs that need to be fixed - thanks to live QA @RiotEtlios for helping out
Fun bug when I was making Snowbow: I hadn't actually hooked up the missile yet so it was invisible, and this version triggered on any damage, so attacking two targets would just cause invisible missiles to bounce between them until one of them died
Not very exciting, but the original version of Fiendhunter Bolts used some kind of mashed up blue vfx I made to display you had the buff. I don't even remember how I made this or why I was testing this item on Vlad but for some reason I saved this clip
An early prototype of the item that would eventually become Hexoptics (you can see where the name Snowbow came from). It fired a snowball from the original target when you swapped targets. It was cool, but wasn't really clear why you would want it over other items
Was looking through some files from last year, found some nice in-dev clips of the items for this season. I initially used Snowball as the missile for Diadem of Songs because it was easy to hook up and nicely visually distinct
I'm now a Game Designer on League of Legends at Riot!
My three years on the Game Analysis Team were special, and it's bittersweet moving off the team, but I'm beyond excited for the future.
Replay remix.
it is absolutely brutal that I once put my laundry in the dryer before I put it in the washer and now I have to remember that every time I do my laundry
I haven't been posting up my regular Q&As here on twitter, but I did make a 2 hour video today with @RiotRogueFool (Arena's lead designer) about Arena and I thought some people might want to check it out: https://t.co/BM5K8tWWsb
I chatted with @RiotEndstep about Arena today. If you're in need of 2 hours of Arena dev content, then I am happy to help fulfill your very specific need. https://t.co/H5YcYjdZDW
Setting up to cast the T1 Riot Rumble finals an hour from now on https://t.co/pf1eFBFpsu - stop by if you want to see the conclusion to my Rumble streams!
@WhatleyLeague@RiotPhroxzon@drewlevin The current functionality is correct/intended - DnD being able to apply additional onhits to turrets was an accidental result of a bugfix which has now been fixed in a different way. It probably could have a callout for this in the extended tooltip though
Really crazy stats from my youtube channel this month - never thought I'd end up getting thousands of hours of views of people watching me straight up yapping
