"The US Mens team wouldnt have even taken the field if Belgiums best player was unfairly suspended."
It's heartening to see they still write comedy like that.
As a Belgian, I never want to beat a team because my King asks the sports federation to alter the rules in my favour. I want all the smoke. Guess things are diffferent overseas.
It’s hilarious that they’re gonna try to make a player who’s only eligible for the team via birthright citizenship a symbol of the Trump admin. Genuinely we live amongst cattle
Gabriel missed a penalty in the biggest game of his life and has now been dunked on by his biggest rival in the second biggest game of his life loooooool
It is utterly fascinating how they manage to spin *everything*, even an extraordinary exception to the rules made deliberately for them, as "We are better / tougher / more fair than everyone else" 😲😂
The only huge cultural difference I'm seeing is that "internationals" are keen on the rules applying equally to all, while Americans want the rules set aside at the first sign of inconvenience to their own side.
Haiti's jerseys were "too political" for the World Cup but the rapist, pedophile president of the USA asking the president of FIFA to personally overturn an American player's suspension is, apparently, not. Great stuff all around.
Recently, FIFA suspended Nepal’s football federation over government interference. Several federations have faced sanctions for the same reason.
Now we learn the White House made a direct call to FIFA asking Infantino to review Balogun’s red card.
FIFA insists the decision was handled by an independent disciplinary panel and could not be influenced externally.
But how is a direct call from a government to FIFA over a player’s suspension not, at the very least, political interference?
There’s genuinely no world where U.S. fans don’t enthusiastically support Belgium’s best player being red carded in the game before their own. Support FIFA’s decision or not let’s not just lie and pretend like we care about playing fair
this is something that just never leaves me they full on murdered 11 million people in west asia from 2000 and never paid a single consequence for it they spread propaganda instead. 11 million people.. can’t even comprehend that
My 6 year old son has been talking a worrying amount recently about having 'enemies' and how loads of the other boys in his class are his 'enemies' and after talking it through with him today it's become apparent that it's because they all like Ronaldo.
Iran couldn’t get visas. They didn’t intervene.
A Somalian referee couldn’t get a visa. They didn’t intervene.
Fans of Muslim countries couldn’t get a visa. They didn’t intervene.
Ronaldo got a red card. Intervened.
USA player got a red card. Intervened.
F*** FIFA. Corrupt.
