Desde las islas no solo sale el combustible para abastecer a los pesqueros que llevan cocaína a Centroamérica, desde la costas ecuatorianas, sino que algunas de sus islas ya son usadas como caletas, para embodegar la droga. La Armada ecuatoriana precisamente acaba de descubrir estos últimos días 64 bultos con 1.300 bloques de cocaína en la isla Isabela, la más grande del archipiélago. Tras recibir información de inteligencia, que alertaba sobre el encaletamiento de la coca, personal de la Marina ubicó el lugar donde estaba el alcaloide
Durante el patrullaje, personal de la lancha Guardacostas asignada a Galápagos realizó un “desembarco mojado” al noreste de Isabela. Este es un punto estratégico utilizado tradicionalmente por redes criminales para diferentes delitos por la poca capacidad del estado para el control del extenso mar territorial. Una vez en tierra, el miércoles pasado, los uniformados iniciaron un barrido en la zona costera de Isabela y localizaron una caleta a unos 300 metros de una playa rocosa. Allí se encontraron 64 bultos de diferentes tamaños con logotipos cifrados, que señalan quienes son sus dueños. Los dos corredores que bordean las islas son usados para varios delitos por bandas como #LosChoneros y recientemente #LosLobos. Hay una disputa por esos espacios también para el #TráficoDeEspecies como las aletas de tiburón, pepinos de mar, langostas y el transporte de armamento y municiones.
