@EkpeUdoh Annie and Vernice had a bond as two girls who didn’t have their mothers. A strong enough bond that even after years of only exchanging letters, Vernice expresses on pg 211 her worries about how their relationship would change if Annie found Hattie Lee. #EkpesBookClub
