And I'm pretty sure the Ukrainian politicians talked about Sevastopol lent to NATO knew they were opening a very very dangerous path.

@YLatynina For me the main cause of the war was the status of Sevastopol naval base. For the Russians Crimea and Sevastopol is like Hawaii and Perl Harbor for the US. The horns of war sounded when Ukrainian politicians spoke about lending in the future Sevastopol to NATO. Well before 2014.
