A simple plea to my fellow South-Africans. More freedom asks for more responsibility, more civil obedience, more awareness that the pandemic is with us and deadly, more understanding that freedom is not only freedom from, but especially freedom for preserving life and livelihood.
Let us stop suggesting that reasonability and rationality is only possible where emotion is sidelined. (Let us get liberated from this narrow understanding of rationality!)
1 June - International Day for the Protection of Children:

@MethulaRev Rev, SUโs Centenary Declaration expresses the ambivalence you refer to. We commemorate by (1)deeply regretting and apologising for our contribution to injustices, and by (2) celebrating successes. We commit ourselves afresh to our continent with all its challenges.
