Happy to share that construction of two sugar factories in Siaya County is underway soon to create thousands of jobs for Siaya residents once completed. As a proud son of Siaya County, it never sat right with me that we grew sugarcane but lacked our own factories. #MukoMbawa

The sugar industry provides direct and indirect jobs, from farming to processing and distribution. In Kenya, it supports the livelihoods of millions, acting as a major source of income for small-scale farmers and creating rural employment.

This afternoon I hosted a consultative engagement with memebers of Northern Siaya Sugarcane Farmers Association & other sugar stakeholders drawn from Ugunja and Ugenya subcounties at Vitican City Resort, Sigomre sub-location, East Uholo location Sigomre ward, Ugunja constituency.

We unanimously agreed to focus on the best interests of our community moving forward focusing on unity, development and empowerment of our people.
